Citrus Allergies
How can my child eat healthy without citrus fruit?
My child has oral allergy syndrome and cannot eat more fresh fruits, but I want her to eat healthy this summer. What are some alternatives to fresh fruit? Canned stuff is well, but more expensive and has some corn syrup in it.
Answer:
Well, she should have a salad of lettuce, peppers and cucumbers (with a little sauce if you wish) once a day. Your breakfast must have some grains, dairy and fruit – preferably a banana. For lunch you need a bit of grain, a vegetable (like broccoli), wheat, protein (like tofu) and dairy. For dinner, make sure you have very little grain, dairy, salad and more proteins – such as beans, tofu or soy. Be sure to make your breakfast the biggest meal and dinner your smallest meal.
